Whisky & Witches
Travel with us to a realm where we breathe life into exceptional whiskies by way of storytelling and hauntingly beautiful music. The evening will be further enriched by celebrating the important – and often forgotten – contributions of women in the history of alcohol, while uncovering the dark tales of why some were labeled as witches.
BACKGROUND
Whisky & Witches is the brainchild of Danish singer, composer and OurWhisky Foundation Mentee Christine Kammerer and Jane Ross, whisky aficionado and owner of the whisky bar The Mother Superior in Edinburgh. This critically acclaimed whisky experience has garnered several 5-star reviews, two award-nominations, and has sold out more that 25 shows in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Denmark, and Norway. Including Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Fèis ìle, Belfast Whiskey Week.
Jane Ross has been in the whisky industry for over 13 years, and before she opened her own bar, she was the manager of the Black Cat for years. She is infamous for breaking boundaries with weird and wonderful whisky events. She is now the owner and CEO of The Mother Superior Bar in Edinburgh, which - with it’s 250 bottles of whisky on the shelf from all over the world, and monthly exciting whisky events - has quickly become one of the whisky hotspots in Edinburgh.
Christine Kammerer is a whisky ambassador, internationally known singer, multi-instrumentalist and composer and a graduate from OurWhisky Foundation Mentorship Programme. She has released 2 EP's, 3 singles and a music video "Raven Brings Runes". Kammerer has currently recorded her debut album.
