He made it for a guest at a bar he worked at many years ago, forgot about it, and then realized that that guest was legendary Simon Difford of Difford’s Guide fame, and that the cocktail ended up there. A Manhattan on mezcal, stirred with coffee beans? Yes please.

  • Chilled coupette glass
  • Measuring jigger
  • Strainer
  • Bar spoon

Ingredients

  • 4 cl Mazcal
  • 2 cl sweet vermouth
  • 2 cl Luxardo
  • Sugar syrup
  • Peychaud bitters
  • 6 coffee beans
  1. Add 4 cl Mezcal into the glass
  2. Add 2 cl sweet vermouth
  3. Add 2 cl Luxardo
  4. Add sugar syrup
  5. Dash Peychaud bitters
  6. Add coffee beans
  7. Fill the glass with ice
  8. Stir together
  9. Strain into chilled glass
  10. Garnish with coffee beans
