Privacy Policy

Copenhagendistillery.com (hereafter “Copenhagen Distillery”) works to ensure that your privacy is always protected when using our services, which means that all customer information provided to Copenhagen Distillery is treated as confidential. No information will be disclosed to third parties and is strictly used by the customer and Copenhagen Distillery. We use the internet every day, and are as concerned as you are about the misuse of personal data.

 

PERSONAL DATA

1. WHAT TYPES OF PERSONAL DATA DO WE COLLECT?

Copenhagen Distillery collects personal data and non-personal data that you forward when using copenhagendistillery.com and associated online services. This occurs when you eg. complete an order, contact customer service, scroll our website or perform certain actions such as subscribing to our newsletter. The personal data you forward includes, but is not limited to: contact information, date of birth and payment details. Non-personal data includes, but is not limited to: IP address, browser type, number of visits, popular searches, domain names and referring sites. We may also collect personal data from external sources and third party providers e.g. credit information and address registrar information.

 

2. HOW DO WE STORE PERSONAL DATA?

The data that we collect from you is stored within the European Economic Area (“EEA”) but may also be transferred to and processed in a country outside of the EEA. Any such transfer of your personal data will be carried out in compliance with applicable laws. For transfers outside the EEA, Copenhagen Distillery will use Standard Contractual Clauses and Privacy Shield as safeguards for countries without adequacy decision from the European Commission.

 

3 HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

Copenhagen Distillery uses your personal data for the following purposes:


• To create and manage your Copenhagen Distillery account
• To process your orders and returns
• To contact you in the event of any problems with your order or delivery
• To send newsletters
• To analyse and create statistics, in order to make your shopping experience better
• To prevent fraud or misuse of our services
• To respond to email inquiries

 

4 WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS?

You have the right to request information about the personal data we behold on you at any time. You can request correction of incorrect or incomplete personal data we hold about you via our customer service. You can request that we delete data we hold about you, or stop processing or collecting it, except for special circumstances such as if there is a legal storage requirement (eg. book-keeping rules), or when there are other legitimate grounds to keep the data (eg. unsettled debts). You can also withdraw your consent (opt-out) to us using the data for marketing purposes at any time (i.e., sending newsletters or offers) via the unsubscribe function in each send-out.

 

5 WHO HAS ACCESS TO THE DATA?

Copenhagen Distillery does not sell your information to third parties. We do, however, share data with third parties when necessary to fulfill a transaction, complete a service, for administrative purposes, or when required by law. Any data that is forwarded to third parties is used to meet Copenhagen Distillery’s commitments to you. Copenhagen Distillery may also supply your personal data to organisations such as credit reference or debt collection agencies for the purposes of credit checks, identity checks, monitoring credit rating and debt collection. Additionally, we will share your data if such sharing is required by law or to protect against potential or suspected fraud.

 

6 HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR DATA?

Once we receive your transmission, we have technical and organisational measures in place to help protect your data from loss, manipulation, unauthorised access, etc.
We only use cloud services that have encrypted storage and secure access to facilities.
Where possible we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption of data transmitted over the web. SSL is a function that encrypts all information sent between buyer and seller, including card information, so that card details cannot be read by external parties.
